SHOREWOOD, ILL.— MJSI, Inc. announced that it will be conducting on-going demonstrations of its water-saving line of HydroWorks toilet improvement products at booth 1028 at the 2008 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show.
The HydroClean toilet fill valve was introduced to the hotel industry less than a year ago and is now in use in eight out of the 10 top hotel companies. It saves water, time and money. Most toilets, even low-flow 1.6 gallon per flush (gpf) toilets, waste a lot of water. Invented by a fourth generation plumber, the HydroClean is the only toilet fill valve that eliminates the two biggest reasons for water loss in toilets—miscalibration and leaks.
Ordinary fill valves continuously deliver water to the bowl throughout the tank filling cycle. Only the HydroClean can be calibrated to adjust the flow for each toilet so that water usage and toilet efficiency is optimized. The HydroClean is also the only toilet fill valve that detects leaks. According to the U.S. EPA, 20 percent of all toilets leak between 20 and 200 gallons of water per day.
Fill Valve’s Proven Results
An independent study conducted by an advisor to the EPA’s WaterSense Program found that the installation of the HydroClean toilet fill valve in a high-rise building reduced water usage by 36 percent and completely eliminated leaks. For this particular property, installation meant a savings of 6,340 gallons of water and $1,250 per month in water and sewer costs—an ROI of less than four months.
Similar findings were found in a collaborative study done last year with a major hotel chain where installation of the HydroClean in low-flow, 1.6-gpf toilets saved 32 ounces of water or more per flush, an ROI of less than eight months. In addition, installation of the HydroClean significantly reduced or eliminated water hammer 100 percent of the time—eliminating a major customer complaint at this particular hotel property.
Available through most major suppliers to the hotel industry, the HydroClean has been selected to be a part of HD Supply’s Ideally Green, American Hotel Register’s Living Green and Home Depot’s EcoOptions ‘green’ programs. The HydroClean is also a GreenSpec LEED W3 product on BuildingGreen.com.
Also being featured at the show is the proprietary HydroForce adjustable flapper that will be available beginning in early 2009. This leak resistant, patented flapper is the only flapper that fits all tank sizes and that can precisely adjust the amount of water needed for each flush.
