CLEVELAND, OHIO—The new Waterhog Eco Premier and Premier Fashion Carpet Mats are made of recycled materials. These indoor-outdoor entrance mats remove and store dirt and water beneath shoe level between cleanings. They are recommended for sites with heavy foot traffic, including commercial buildings, hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities, office buildings and more.
The Waterhog Eco Premier Mat consists of 30 oz. sq./yd. carpet fiber made of 100 percent post consumer recycled PET fabric from plastic bottles. The SBR rubber backing contains 20 percent recycled rubber from car tires, and can be provided with cleats for use on carpet, or smooth for hard floors.
The mats may be used indoors or outdoors, and the rubber-reinforced face nubs prevent the carpet pile from crushing, extending the performance life of the product. The unique “Water Damn” allows these Waterhog mats to hold up to 1.5 gallons of water per square yard.
“Waterhog Eco Premier mats show that mats can be environmentally friendly but still attractive and durable,” said company president Dan Ruminski.
Waterhog Eco Premier Fashion Mats are made in the United States, and come in two styles. The Eco Premier has a rubber border, while the Eco Premier Fashion has a fabric border. They come in 20 standard sizes ranging from two by three feet to six by twenty feet, and eight different colors to match any decor. The National Floor Safety Institute certifies them slip resistant.
