SAN DIEGO—Koni Kim, designer of luxurious fabrics and soft goods for the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and CEO of Koni Corp., has partnered with American of Martinsville to create her first hospitality case goods collection. Selections from the three new collections will be showcased at the upcoming 2009 HD Expo, taking place at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, May 14 to 16.

Koni’s collections for American of Martinsville complement a range of design styles and have at their core Koni Kim’s primary inspiration, nature. From hand-chiseled panels reminiscent of mahogany carvings to flowing wood grain and the smooth sheen of bamboo, each of the pieces offers a complement of fabric and natural material. Two fabric collections and two wood finishes are available for each of the lines and the colorways include rich chocolate brown, camel and ivory as well as sage green and silver.

“I am extremely grateful to American of Martinsville for the opportunity to expand beyond fabrics and soft goods to design case goods, a key element of the guestroom,” says Kim. “We are excited to work with designers and properties to create beautiful environments that have the Koni signature and reflect the Koni aesthetic.”

Selections from Koni’s Purity Collection for American of Martinsville will be on view at the KOJO Worldwide booth, No. 2343. American of Martinsville will be showing selections from Koni’s Plaza Collection at its booth, No. 2718. HD Expo attendess are invited to American of Martinsville’s/AOM Studios’ “Designer Spotlight at HD Expo” on Thursday, May 14, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at American of Martinsville’s booth. Kim will be in attendance at the event.
