LORIS, S.C.—Integra Fabrics, a leading supplier in the hospitality, GSA and healthcare markets, has committed to donating proceeds from the sale of fabric from the Integra Environment Collection to The Arbor Day Foundation. The Integra Environments Collection is an assortment of fabrics that are produced using only recycled materials. In this case the goods are made from 100 percent recycled polyester yarns that consist of recycled sustainable content; the yarns are created from consumer products such as water bottles.
By taking a percentage of sales from the Integra Environment Collection and contributing to The Arbor Day Foundation, Integra Fabrics hopes to inspire others in the industry to support this philanthropic effort and find other ways in which they can contribute as well.
“To really make an impact, Integra Fabrics has taken the initiative to give back and help reduce our carbon footprint,” says Chad Fisher, vice president of sales at Integra Fabrics. “All vendors in our industry now provide sustainable fabric, Integra is trying to do more than simply provide the fabric—we are actually taking the steps to build a more eco-friendly environment.”
The Arbor Day Foundation was established in 1971 and since then has helped plant millions of trees around the world. This nonprofit organization strives to embed a sense of appreciation for trees throughout the world; their mission is to “inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.” The profits are raised through donations, selling of merchandise and trees, and also from corporate sponsors such as Integra Fabrics.
