LANCASTER, PA.—High Hotels Ltd., a Lancaster, Pa.-based operator of nationally branded hotels, has introduced electric vehicle charging stations at its properties in Greenfield Corporate Center in East Lampeter Township. Guests of the Courtyard by Marriott, at 1931 Hospitality Drive, and the Hampton Inn, at 545 Greenfield Road, can fully charge their all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles in two to four hours.

The two new charging stations join a third station in Greenfield Corporate Center next to the offices of AMERIgreen Energy, a Lancaster, Pa.-based wholesale energy provider. High Hotels partnered with AMERIgreen Energy to install the charging stations.

Green Plus-Certified High Hotels sought the eco-friendly amenities as part of an ongoing focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. “We have a commitment to the triple bottom line of people, planet, and prosperity,” says Mike Fruin, president and chief operating officer of High Hotels. “Providing an additional convenience to our eco-conscious guests who own electric vehicles fits with our sustainability objectives.”

Stations Available Free to Public

Classified as Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, or EVSE, the charging systems were coordinated by AMERIgreen through a grant award obtained by AMERIgreen from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Alternate Fuels Incentive Grant Program. The EVSE provide single pedestal Level II charging for electric vehicles with a standard SAE J1772 plug, including Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi i MiEV, Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, and others. All the Greenfield stations are available for use by the public 24/7 at no cost.

“We’re proud to partner with local organizations such as High Hotels to further establish alternative energy infrastructure and support energy independence,” says Steve McCracken, AMERIgreen sales and marketing manager. AMERIgreen has seven other EVSE installations throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Greenfield Corporate Center is a property of High Real Estate Group LLC. High Hotels is an affiliate of High Real Estate Group.
