At this time of celebration, Green Lodging News would like to wish its readers and clients a very happy and safe holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year in 2009. It is hard to believe that yet another year is about to come to a close. For Green Lodging News the year has been a good one, with newsletter circulation now at 9,300 and a high of 91,111 page views for a month in October. An average of more than 23,000 visitors a month now stop by the Green Lodging News website. That number has been as high as 31,000.
Without your interest in the greening of our industry, Green Lodging News would not be where it is today. Still, Green Lodging News is just 2.5 years old and has a lot of growing to do. It recently added a News Blog and will be making a number of exciting additions to the site in 2009—most notably a section for classified advertising that will give job seekers and those in hiring positions an opportunity to connect.
Even though the world economy is struggling at the moment, I am confident there are better times ahead—especially for those owners and operators of green hotels, motels, resorts, lodges and inns who are better positioned than their competitors to reduce costs through innovative technologies, products and processes.
I am looking forward to an exciting 2009. Thank you again for all of your support in 2008.
