The last couple of weeks you may have noticed some subtle design changes to the weekly Green Lodging News e-newsletter. Well, I am excited to announce that the Green Lodging News website has also been redesigned. Be sure to check it out! Thank you to Lakewood, Ohio-based ninebolt, inc. for engineering the redesign. Together, ninebolt and Green Lodging News have created a site that allows for more news and feature content, more vendor news, a tweet feed from Twitter, and an enhanced Green Product & Service Directory (now with 54 product and service categories).
You will also notice a new Featured Vendor Video on the Green Lodging News home page. Thank you to ClearEdge Power for sponsoring that video spot. The site also includes a new Vendor Videos page where all Vendor Videos are posted. If you are a supplier to the lodging industry and have produced a video to promote your products or services, contact me at editor@greenlodgingnews.com or (440) 243-2055. We have also added a “More Cool Videos” page—a catch-all page for green hotels or companies that have been featured on television, educational videos, and other miscellaneous videos. If you are aware of a video that would be a good addition to the More Cool Videos section, please let me know. Links to the new video sections are located on the left side of the website.
Display ads from our sponsors are now located on the right side of the website. The entry point to check out our Founding Sponsors has been moved to the left side of the site. Be sure to continue to support all of our sponsors. On each article page you will notice a new “Share” icon in the upper right. This will allow you to bookmark and share an article. Mouse over that icon to see your options.
Our Events section has been expanded and now includes an actual calendar to help you see upcoming events. Overall, the website has been widened to allow for more content. We would love to know what you think of our new site. If you have suggestions for improvements or additions, let us know. Admittedly, the publication is always a work in progress.
The Green Lodging News website has been growing steadily since its launch in July 2006 and now welcomes more than 50,000 total visitors monthly. The weekly e-newsletter’s circulation is now more than 12,000. Thank you very much for continuing to read and support Green Lodging News!
