I am excited to announce the addition of a new Classified Ads section to the Green Lodging News website. The section can be linked to from the “Classified Ads” link on the left side of the website or from the bottom of every page on the site. A link to the site also appears at the top of the weekly Green Lodging News newsletter and from the Green Lodging News Blog page. The Classified Ads area will give those seeking employment, and those looking to hire, a place to post advertisements. The new section is also for those companies interested in selling real estate or miscellaneous items such as used furniture or equipment. Vendors may wish to use the section to link with potential partners or distributors. New categories will be added to the Classified Ads page as needed.
The Classified Ads section will not replace the Green Product & Service Directory in any way. The Directory is reserved for those companies wishing to market their green products and services. Be sure to use the Classifieds section of the site and spread the word to your colleagues! Traffic to Green Lodging News continues to grow and the site is a great place to connect with those with an interest in green lodging and sustainability.
For those of you not familiar with Twitter, it is a website that enables one to post answers to the question: “What are you doing?” There is a 140-character limit to each posting. While to some the site may be seen as something for those with a little too much time on their hands, what it does is provide one more means of getting a message out about something you are doing that is of value to others. More Earth Day Activities
On Wednesday, April 22, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and The Fairmont Washington, D.C. will join forces for the sixth consecutive year to help students at the local Francis-Stevens Educational Campus (EC) learn about plants and gardening in honor of Earth Day. Staff members from WWF and Fairmont will go equipped with plants, trees, flowers, gardening tools and gloves to meet science students at the Francis-Stevens EC. Students, teachers, WWF and Fairmont staff members will help clean the school grounds before they begin planting trees, flowers and shrubs.
