CLEVELAND, OHIO—Hasek Communications, the Cleveland, Ohio-based publisher of Green Lodging News, has added a ClearWater Tech, LLC case study to the Green Lodging News website. The senior care facility has benefited in many ways from the ozone system: 16-minute reduction in cycle time, resulting in an increase of 26 loads per week; 38 percent reduction in water use; 77 percent reduction in hot water requirements; 32 percent saving in supplies; and 25 percent reduction in re-washes, down to 5 percent.
The reduction in cycle time resulted from eliminating one flush and one rinse. Figures for the two IPSO washers show a reduction in hot water use from 94 gallons per load to 22 gallons, because ozone works most effectively in cold water. In addition, the use of chemicals is reduced; specifically, at Manoir Pierrefonds the chemical use went from 751 mL to 510 mL per week.
