The company’s domestic mill, located in Griffin, Ga., is leading the way in this progressive enterprise, having established an Environmental Management System (EMS) to monitor natural resource efficiency and waste management. The intensive process is an ongoing endeavor, constantly optimized to maximize the beneficial impact on the local and global environment. 1888 Mills first established an EMS in 2007 to assess, monitor and reduce the environmental impact of its operations. Involvement at every level was essential to the effective execution of this initiative.
The case study explains how 1888 Mills has been able to reduce its water, electricity and natural gas consumption to reduce its environmental impact. The case study also explains how the company’s products contribute to resource savings.
