(GBCI) has reported that the Arc performance platform is now tracking more than seven billion square feet of project space in nearly 140 countries, an increase of 1.4 billion square feet over the last 12 months. This makes Arc among the largest databases of building performance in the world.

Arc provides tools to measure, track and score the real-world sustainability performance of spaces, buildings and places with scores and metrics for five performance categories: energy, water, waste, transportation and human experience. U.S. Has Most Arc Projects
Based on project floor area, the United States retains the largest share of Arc projects at 49.5 percent, followed by Canada at 9.6 percent and fast-rising Italy at 7.1 percent. These projects range from individual spaces to whole buildings and full portfolios. Notable changes over the last year include a significant jump in retail projects tracking space in Arc. Collectively, Arc users are tracking 1.8 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, 15 trillion gallons of potable water consumption and 5.7 million tons of waste. These impacts are associated with more than 12 million occupants—a population larger than the Paris metro area.
Arc scores performance data against a growing set of performance standards, including LEED, local regulations, international benchmarks and more. Users can utilize these scores to verify performance against sustainability goals, celebrate improvements over time and apply towards LEED certification.
