LOS ANGELES—MindClick SGM announced that Fairmont Designs, a leader in sustainable custom contact furnishings for the hospitality industry, has joined the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium as a Contributing Member. Specializing in the design, manufacture and marketing of furnishings, case goods and seating to the contract market, Fairmont Designs has a longstanding commitment to defining business success by not only delivering comfort and style through its products—but also by advancing environmental well-being in the communities it serves. Its membership in the Consortium moves further toward establishing the new Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Index (HSP Index) as the industry resource for sustainable purchasing.

With more than 4.5 million hotel rooms in the United States, guestroom furnishings, case goods and seating are major investments for all hotels, brands and owners—and as a central element of design, they have a substantial impact on the guest experience and the environmental footprint of a hotel.

“We are delighted to welcome Fairmont Designs to the Consortium,” said JoAnna Abrams, CEO of MindClick SGM. “Their support of an industry-wide supplier sustainability scorecard demonstrates a commitment to producing beautiful products that improve indoor air quality, use resources more efficiently and help hotels achieve their sustainability goals.”

Consortium Up to 28 Members

Twenty-eight leading organizations are now part of the Consortium, including more than a dozen industry-leading suppliers, leading brands, architects, designers, purchasing firms, and sustainability consultants.

“As a leader in furnishings, case goods and seating for hospitality, Fairmont Designs knows there is a strong demand for sophisticated, luxurious furnishings that also meet fundamental standards of sustainability,” said Calvin Eggleston, vice president of sales and solution designs. “We are looking forward to joining other industry leaders, via the Consortium, in aligning our efforts with performance standards that help the industry furnish hotels in ways that are better for the guest, the community and the planet.”
