TORONTO—EnviroTower, a clean technology leader providing proven clean cooling tower water treatment solutions, has won the prestigious Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award. The award was created last year to showcase 15 North American companies that are leading the way to create major breakthroughs in the field of green technology.

This marks the second consecutive year EnviroTower has been named to the Technology Green 15, solidifying the company as a leader in sustainable technology innovation. In addition to Green 15 honors, John Coburn, a water technology industry veteran and EnviroTower’s CEO, participated in an exclusive CEO panel discussion at the inaugural Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Summit.

“Deloitte recognizes that environmental sustainability is a vital issue that businesses can’t afford to ignore,” said Coburn. “It has been predicted that many cities across North America could face critical water shortages by 2015. That, coupled with rising energy costs, poses a huge challenge for commercial buildings. Through our sustainable cooling tower solutions we’re able to empower companies with the tools to adapt and, ultimately, overcome the rising costs of utilities by creating and maintaining clean and efficient cooling tower systems.”

Substantial Energy, Water Savings

EnviroTower’s innovative, sustainable water treatment solution reduces the environmental impact of cooling systems in commercial buildings by dropping energy costs on average by 15 percent and water usage by 20 percent—resulting in savings, on average, of approximately fifteen cents per square foot.

“The Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award recognizes Canadian companies that offer solutions to global environmental challenges by creating intellectual property and technology that reduce society’s environmental impact,” said John Ruffolo, national leader, technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. “Companies such as EnviroTower are creating technology solutions that have a significant environmental impact and demonstrate a compelling return on investment. In doing so, they are helping position Canada as a global leader in the development of commercially-viable green technology.”

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Summit featured a panel discussion on technology trends, the environment in the tech industry and barriers to success within the industry. Coburn represented the Technology Green 15 companies, bringing a clean-tech perspective to the discussion. The event was created to provide Technology Fast 50 companies with a place to share ideas, gain insight and network amongst industry experts and industry peers.
