Its purpose is to put action behind the long celebrated “infrastructure week” as there are many parts to this law. One piece of the document that stands out for hotels is the passion to increase electric vehicle (EV) use. Hotels that have been considering becoming more sustainable can benefit from this act considering it would allow them to finally have an...
Soundproof Windows Touts Noise Reduction Effectiveness
RENO, NEV.—Loud exterior noise from traffic, train tracks, late night parties, and general urban living penetrates right through traditional windows and patio doors, making it difficult for hotel guests to relax and sleep. Left unaddressed, excess noise will negatively affect hotel bookings and cause unwanted reviews on social media. Negative guest feedback can compromise a hotel’s bottom line and are particularly important to avoid today as the hospitality industry strives to make up for the difficult pandemic years.
To resolve excessive noise issues quickly and cost effectively, Soundproof Windows, a national manufacturer of window and patio door soundproofing products, provides...
States Commit to Clean & Healthy New Buildings
Washington and Colorado recently took exciting steps to ensure new buildings in their states are built ready for the all-electric future. Washington State’s policy, that just passed the state’s building code council, requires all new commercial buildings to use high efficiency heating equipment that can run on 100 percent clean power. The Colorado bill that is on its way to the Governor’s desk requires that any municipality that chooses to adopt or update building codes also update to the latest international energy conservation standards.
These are two states that have recently felt the devastating consequences of the climate crisis and are now taking...

How JLL Is Shaping the Future of Real Estate for a Better World
CHICAGO—Global urbanization offers a time-limited opportunity to work towards widespread climate-resilient development and transformational adaptation. There needs to be an all-in approach in the built environment sector to deliver the critical 1.5ºC pathway. A significant majority of the world’s major cities have committed for all new buildings to be net zero by 2030 and all buildings to be net zero by 2050. In its 2021 Global Sustainability Report, JLL—the first real estate company...
