NEW YORK—Downtown Camper, a signature hotel within the Scandic portfolio, will open its doors to the adventurous traveler in early 2018. Located in the heart of one of Stockholm’s most unexplored neighborhoods, and adjacent to Brunkeburg Square, the hotel is the ultimate basecamp for urban explorers and global travelers. Downtown Camper takes an outdoorsy and social approach to hospitality with a focus on spontaneity, relaxation, and togetherness, empowering guests to discover the wonders of Stockholm. Guests are encouraged to pluck a complimentary kayak from the lobby and explore Stockholm’s breathtaking archipelago, or grab a bike and tour Gamla Stan’s picturesque cobblestoned streets.

With 494 urban explorer-themed guestrooms, as well as nine expansive city-view suites, Downtown Camper offers unique accommodations to suit every guest. With adjoined bedrooms and central gathering spots, Camper Co-Living rooms can host up to 12 guests for a social experience geared towards families and groups that create opportunities for spontaneous interaction. The hotel’s design merges a playful nature-inspired interior with the concrete jungle of its urban surroundings. Other spaces for guests to relax and mingle include the Game Room, Nightwood cinema, the Camper Lounge, and resident restaurant, Campfire. Rooms boast free Wi-Fi, HD televisions, blackout curtains, refrigerators, morning refreshments, window nooks, bunkbeds, sofa beds, pet-friendliness, and extensive views the city.

In addition to fostering a social community, the property focuses on guest wellbeing and sustainability with the help of Downtown Camper’s own Lifestyle Concierge, Kristian Hell. The hotel’s resident “Mr. Know-It-All” designs an activity schedule each week to provide friendly motivation while directing guests towards discovery, opportunity, and adventure throughout the city. From organizing men-only yoga classes to hosting group runs (appropriately dubbed “Run Like Hell”), Kristian is the man to meet. Other activities include social happy hours, communal film screenings, spiritual workshops, and group meals. Downtown Camper is also proud to partner with local businesses Melker Kayaks, Urskog Longboard, And The Revolution, ABLE Lounge, and Houdini sportswear to provide guests with complimentary use of bikes, skateboards, longboards, and more to assist with their urban exploring.

To balance out the plentiful activity offerings, The Nest serves as a private rooftop wellness oasis with experience showers, a heated pool, sauna, juice and cocktail bar, and panoramic city and sea views. At The Nest, hotel guests are able to take advantage of inspirational lectures focused on such subjects as “Body Awareness” and “Mental and Emotional Well-being”. In collaboration with Julie Lindh, founder of JL Skin Concepts, The Nest will offer a variety of spa treatments that not only keep guests looking radiant, but also soothe the mind and soul.

In addition to enjoying cocktails and fresh-squeezed juices at the The Nest, guests may indulge in crave-worthy food and drink at Campfire. With views of Brunkeberg Square, the laid-back all-day restaurant serves comfort foods from every corner of the world, utilizing Swedish ingredients. Each morning, guests enjoy a complimentary, certified-organic breakfast buffet to fuel their day’s endeavors. A place for guests and locals to gather, Campfire captures the flavors of the changing seasons and the rustic depth of live-fire cooking with dishes such as Grilled Chicken Bibimbap, Peruvian Tostadas, Grilled Cod Rockefeller, and Mudcake with Marshmallows. With a variety of seating options, Campfire guests can choose a comfy, communal, intimate, or inspiring spot that speaks to them most, from a barstool to a booth.
