DES PLAINES, ILL.—Chicago Faucets, a leading manufacturer of commercial faucets, introduces the Commander Handheld Programming Unit. Commander allows users to easily program, monitor and troubleshoot Chicago Faucets’ HyTronic and E-Tronic electronic faucets. No tools are necessary to set up and change faucet functions.

Without touching the faucet, facility managers and maintenance personnel can easily change and customize operating modes; adjust sensor range; monitor battery levels; identify serial numbers, settings and usage information; and access the troubleshooting guide and product information.

Chicago Faucet Commander provides easy-to-read diagnostics and step-by-step adjustment procedures. With Commander, the user can scan for faucets requiring attention. When a faucet needs service, Commander will alert the user so that they have the ability to immediately perform diagnostics or field maintenance.

“The new Commander replaces our current Palm-based hardware and software solution for programming HyTronic and E-Tronic faucets,” says John Fitzgerald, vice president of marketing for Chicago Faucets. “The advantages of the Commander unit include a touch screen, eliminating the need for a stylus or external keyboard; a USB connection for communication to a desktop PC; and proprietary hardware that is no longer tied to Palm-based legacy technology.”

Commander comes with software pre-loaded for immediate faucet control. Facility managers can immediately begin saving time and money. Multiple field-adjustable ranges and modes for flexibility and dependability are especially suited for demanding commercial applications. Commander can also be used to store and review information about faucet usage over time. Optional Commander Desktop software, available from Chicago Faucets, allows the user to retrieve data from the Commander unit to create usage reports and maintenance records.

The Chicago Faucet Company is part of the Geberit Group, a European market leader and global provider of sanitary technology.
