WEST CHICAGO, ILL.—CFR, a leading manufacturer of recycling carpet extractors, has introduced the next generation of one of its best-selling machines, the ECO-500. The new machine, part of the ECO-500 AW Series, is powered by an all-new vacuum motor engineered with a number of advanced features that improve cleaning performance, reduce energy needs, and make the machine quieter than earlier models.

Most importantly, the new unit is specifically designed for foam- and moisture-laden applications.

“New moisture shields protect the motor’s bearings, the cooling fan has been repositioned to improve airflow, and the machine’s electronic system has been re-engineered to help improve performance and reduce the machine’s energy needs,” says Doug Berjer, product manager for CFR. “These new technologies also help reduce downtime and improve worker productivity.”

Extractor Life Extended

With these modifications, along with other engineering changes, the vacuum motor lasts three to five times longer than motors found on comparable, conventional carpet extractors, according to Berjer.

“Considering this is one of the most costly components in an extractor, having it last a lot longer is a significant cost savings,” he says.

CFR machines are considered some of the industry’s most sustainable and environmentally responsible carpet extractors. By recycling water/cleaning solution, the machines use significantly less water and chemical than a traditional machine.

“Based on studies by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning association, because of the recycling feature, worker productivity can be improved by as much as seven times,” adds Berjer. “Since time is money in the carpet cleaning industry, this can be considered money in the bank for carpet cleaning technicians.”
