WATERFORD, N.Y.—Cascades Tissue Group today announced that the company’s Cascades Moka 100 percent recycled unbleached bathroom tissue has been honored with a first place finish in Green Manufacturer magazine’s 2013 Green Manufacturer’s Innovation Awards. The panel of judges praised Cascades for the product’s “outstanding features” and commitment to sustainability, as well as its low environmental impact compared to similar, traditional products.

100 Percent Recycled Fiber
Launched in the Away-from-Home market in 2012, Cascades Moka bathroom tissue offers commercial purchasers the highest hygienic qualities and softness while significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing a single-use product. In addition to eliminating chemical whitening, Cascades’ value-added tissue product is made of a pulp mix composed of 100 percent recycled fiber, 80 percent of which is post-consumer material and 20 percent is recovered corrugated boxes.
A detailed lifecycle analysis of Cascades Moka bathroom tissue revealed a reduction in overall environmental impact by at least 25 percent when compared to Cascades’ next most environmentally preferable tissue, which is whitened without chlorine. Cascades Moka bathroom tissue holds certification with EcoLogo, Green Seal and the Chlorine Free Products Association.
Earlier this year, Cascades extended the Cascades Moka product line with facial tissue based on the success and growing demand of the bathroom tissue.
