SPARTANBURG, S.C.—The Specialty Interiors business of Milliken & Co., a leading global innovation company with textile, specialty chemical and floor covering manufacturing expertise, will launch new texture-driven Breathe by Milliken home fabrics at the upcoming High Point Showtime event. These new products include cotton-linen blends and chenilles.

Breathe fabrics are unique because they have a plant-based water-repellent that is durable, repels everyday stains and cleans easily without PFCs, fire retardants or other chemicals of concern. Breathe by Milliken fabrics have also earned GREENGUARD GOLD certification, ensuring that they meet strict chemical emissions limits and enhancing the indoor air quality of living spaces.

The Breathe collection now features fabrics with varying degrees of texture and a range of plain to subtle patterns to address the growing consumer desire for textures and more tactile options. Milliken’s natural fiber fabrics use yarn size, slub yarns and a combination of fibers to achieve texture, while the new recycled polyester designs make use of tone on tone patterns, tweeds and chenille to create surface interest. The cotton-linen blend fabrics were added to offer more elegant performance fabric options that combine the high-end look and feel customers desire with the protection and durability they need.

All Breathe by Milliken fabrics are designed and carefully curated to evoke nature and comfort in a neutral and timeless pallet with spa accent tones to support this overall feel.

“There is a HUGE trend toward creating plush, cozy spaces, and elegant but livable rooms,” said Dana Claire Larson, Milliken Director of Design and Development. “Our new chenilles will make any room feel instantly warmer and more homelike, while our cotton-linen blends have been engineered to look and feel like high-end Belgian linen without the fear of stains. We believe our Breathe fabrics add an extra measure of elegance, comfort and peace of mind for those who want to feel good in—and about—the spaces they inhabit.”
