LAS VEGAS—A new line of commercial hands-free, dual flush toilet valves from American Standard automatically adjust flush volume, thereby consuming 20 percent less water than standard toilets. The Selectronic dual flush toilet valve releases a light flush, or 1.1 gallons per flush (gpf), when motion is detected for less than 60 seconds. A standard 1.6 gpf volume is used when motion is detected for 60 seconds or longer.

The Selectronic line was developed to simplify specification and installation, while reducing maintenance time. The same watertight miniature sensor—and wireless program controller—works for all Selectronic fittings on faucets, flush valves and urinals made by American Standard. The Selectronic sensor’s range is pre-set at the factory and can be adjusted either manually or via remote control with the touch of a button.

American Standard flush valve features include:

• Self-cleaning piston prevents clogging, for superior reliability and performance;
• Electronic valve stores enough power to close upon loss of AC power or battery;
• Piston valves stay closed after loss of water pressure and do not need to be manually reset;
• Chemical resistant EPDM seals are unaffected by chloramines and other chemicals;
• Piston operation eliminates rubber diaphragms that can crack and warp;
• Flexible installation options for new construction and retrofit; and
• ADA compliant.

Three DC (battery powered) models are available. For more information on the Selectronic line or other commercial products from American Standard, visit www.americanstandard.com.
