WASHINGTON, D.C.—The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) 2010 Fall Conference, held in conjunction with the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS), is November 12 to 16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The AH&LA Hospitality Leadership Forum on Saturday, November 13, is comprised of seminars on a wide range of industry topics, as well as perennial favorites, the CEO Leadership Panel and the Lodging Industry Summit Panel. This year’s keynote features two former members of Congress who’ll provide an insider’s view of the political landscape just one week after the mid-term elections.

The invitation-only Incoming Chair’s Reception hosted by the AH&LA HotelPAC, on Saturday, November 13, at The InterContinental The Barclay New York, brings hoteliers and allied members together to support the industry’s only political action committee that helps elect members of Congress who support the lodging community.

AH&LA Inaugural Gala

Sunday, November 14, caps off a year-long celebration of the association’s 100th birthday, the AH&LA Inaugural Gala honoring Incoming Chair John Campbell, general manager of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Held at the New York Marriott Marquis, the black-tie dinner will celebrate events leading up to the anniversary, as well as set the stage for the next century.

Opening online in mid-October and closing Tuesday, November 16 at 3 p.m., the Big Apple Silent Auction supports the initiatives of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation. Bid on more than 200 prize items including high-end merchandise, deluxe vacation packages, and more both in-person at the Javits Center or online at www.ahlef.org.

Now in its 95th year, IHMRS attracts more than 30,000 attendees and features more than 1,000 exhibiting companies and a comprehensive lineup of educational programs covering every operational aspect, including the AH&LA Women in Lodging (WIL) Connect panel of female COOs and WIL luncheon; the AH&LA Under 30 Gateway seminar, “Young Professionals Uncensored” and networking reception; and marketing seminars on how to turn online visitors into guests and capture high-net worth and loyal minority travelers.

New Boutique Design Exhibition

New this year, discover more than 200 interior product manufacturers of high-end, unique and innovative design products for hospitality at the inaugural Boutique Design New York exhibition. Held November 14 to 15, attendees get free access to this niche exhibition as well. For additional details, visit www.boutiquedesignnewyork.com.
