STATE COLLEGE, PA.—EnergyCAP, Inc., the publisher of EnergyCAP utility bill management software, announced that its software has received a “Top Product of the Year Award” by Environmental Leader magazine. The awards recognize excellence in products and services that improve environmental or energy management, and increase the bottom line.

Environmental Leader award winners were determined by a panel of independent judges headed by Paul Leavoy of LNS Research. According to the judges, “The ongoing impact of [EnergyCAP] remains enormous in terms of its impact on energy efficiency.” In its 30-year history, EnergyCAP has helped more than 10,000 energy managers in 3,000 organizations to track more than $25 billion in energy spending, which led the judges to say the award was, “A no-brainer in terms of the impact this product has had on energy efficiency over the years.”

EnergyCAP software offers total integration of utility bill processing and energy management through an online or client-hosted database. Software features include bill entry (manual, spreadsheet import, and EDI), bill tracking, an optional AP/GL interface, customizable bill approval workflow, audits, rate schedules, interval/production data tracking, cost avoidance (M&V), issue tracking, submeter tracking, virtual meter formulas, re-billing, greenhouse gas tracking, 300+ reports, automated Energy Star building data submittal, building benchmarking, and graphical PowerViews.

“We had more entries than ever this year, and competition was tough,” said Paul Nastu, publisher of Environmental Leader. “The winners showed innovation and the ability to help transform the fields of energy and sustainability management. Entries that were awarded Top Product or Project of the Year are those that should be carefully considered by companies seeking to improve operations and boost the bottom line.”
