WALTHAM, MASS.—American DG Energy Inc., an on-site utility, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to hospitality facilities, announced that it has reached an agreement to provide chilled water to Doral Arrowwood Hotel and Conference Center to cool the property from two 450-ton chillers. The highly efficient cooling systems will be owned and operated by American DG Energy. The chillers are in addition to the 375 kW of combined heat and power (CHP) systems operating at the property since 2011 that are owned and operated by American DG Energy that provide electricity, heat and hot water.

Doral Arrowwood, a premier hotel and conference center near White Plains, N.Y., needed to replace its central plant cooling systems. Utilizing American DG Energy’s on-site utility energy solution, they were able to avoid the capital expenditures they were about to face and they were seeking a single company to perform all aspects of the project. Doral Arrowwood will only pay for the energy produced by the chillers and avoid all capital, installation and operating costs of the systems. To date, the Doral Arrowwood chiller will be the largest chiller plant owned by American DG Energy at one location.

American DG Energy sells the energy produced from an on-site energy system to an individual property as an alternative to the outright sale of energy equipment. On-site utility customers only pay for the energy produced by the system and receive a guaranteed discount rate on the price of the energy. All system capital, installation and operating expenses are paid by American DG Energy.
