AURORA, ONT.—Midpoint International announced that its recycling container business is now CleanRiver Recycling and Waste Stream Systems, a Division of Midpoint International.  The announcement coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary and with the announcement that founder Bruce Buchan is assuming the new position of CEO and that David Jarrett has been named president.

“The name CleanRiver is being adopted to reflect our continued commitment to environmental stewardship,” Buchan said. “In particular, the river represents our focus on creating an efficient stream of material to be recycled, rather than dumped in a landfill. The end result will be a better environment, including clean rivers.”

CleanRiver manufactures recycling containers, bins and cabinets made from raw materials with the highest recycled content available, including long-lasting plastic lumber made from recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE). CleanRiver combines innovative containers, creative graphics and effective programs into complete recycling solutions that are tailored to each client’s specific waste stream management and recycling requirements. CleanRiver serves high-volume recycling markets, including quick-serve restaurants (QSR), hospitality and other facilities in Canada and across the United States.

According to Jarrett, the new name also signals an affirmation of CleanRiver’s core business.

“We are a company that is solely focused on and committed to reducing the volume of solid waste that goes into landfills, and increasing the value of recycling practices,” Jarrett said. “More than merely supplying containers, we provide waste stream analysis, engineering and design services, and implementation programs that help ensure the success of recycling programs.”
