DALLAS—Motel 6 announced the launch of a sponsorship with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). As an extension of its mission of hospitality, Motel 6 will provide support to RMHC and the Ronald McDonald House program in doing what they do best: providing a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children who must travel far from home for medical treatment.

“We are proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and its mission to improve the lives, health and well-being of children,” said Olivier Poirot, CEO for Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. “This sponsorship will allow our employees and our guests the opportunity to be a part of the very important work of Ronald McDonald House Charities—whether that be through donating funds or their valuable time. We look forward to contributing to the great efforts of Ronald McDonald House Charities for years to come and making a positive difference to many children and families in need.”

Motel 6 will support and promote the charity on its newly-launched, redesigned website, motel6.com. The site includes a link with information about RMHC plus a “donate now” button that links visitors to a page where they can make an online donation. Motel 6 will donate $300,000 to the organization over the course of a four-year agreement.

For 35 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities has provided stability and resources to families so they can keep their children happy and healthy. “We know that children heal faster and cope better with their families nearby, and Ronald McDonald Houses are there to provide all the comforts of home to these families in need,” Marty Coyne, president and CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities, added.

The charity operates in accordance with a set of core values: focusing on the critical needs of children; celebrating the diversity of the programs they offer and the staff, volunteers and donors who make them possible; staying true to a heritage of 35 years of responsible stewardship; and operating with accountability and transparency.
