ST. PAUL, MINN.—Venture Luxury Estates, a division of Uphoff Resorts, unveiled plans to open Treetop Villas at Mirror Lake in the Wisconsin Dells. Treetop Villas will consist of four luxury treehouse accommodations located next to The Original 1855 Dawn Manor Restaurant. Both concepts are slated to open this spring.
“The Treetop Villas are a one-of-a-kind luxury retreat that seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with the natural beauty and rich history of Mirror Lake,” says Steve Uphoff, CEO of Uphoff Resorts. “Every tree possible has been preserved, providing guests with an immersive stay in the treetops overlooking this stunning landscape. With the historic 1855 Dawn Manor transformed into a period-themed restaurant just steps away, guests can look forward to an unforgettable new getaway.”
The Treetop Villas are currently under construction with Holtz Builders. Three of the villas will feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms, along with a sleeper sofa to accommodate up to six guests. The fourth unit will include four bedrooms with king beds, a sleeper sofa, and four and a half bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 10 guests. Each bedroom is cantilevered over the sandstone cliffs and overlooks breathtaking views of the natural lake and ravines below. This larger villa will also feature a sauna for up to 10 guests.
Year-round Accommodation
All units are thoughtfully designed for year-round accommodation. Amenities include a full kitchen, gas fireplace, washer and dryer and wardrobe outfitted for skis and snowboard equipment. Guests can unwind on elevated back decks with lounge seating, a fire pit, and an outdoor lake-facing balcony hot tub.
Architectural design firm, ADCI, drew inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright for this project—a prominent guest of the original 1855 Dawn Manor home. ADCI set out to create an imaginative treehouse appeal. The best views were chosen for each villa while making sure to provide privacy for neighbors. The treehouses blend into their beautiful surrounding landscape due to the selection of natural materials, including real white pine tree trunks wrapped around the spiral stairs. Higher-end finishes have been selected for a sense of luxury that clients desire.
The Villas will open in tandem with The Original 1855 Dawn Manor Restaurant, managed by Morrissey Hospitality. The historic, period-themed destination will feature a restaurant, bar, speakeasy and gift shop. Meticulous reconstruction has preserved many of the original elements of the house, including the stone-by-stone relocation of the exterior 170-year-old custom sandstone veneer stone. The 1800s-themed restaurant will also offer room service and private chef services for the villas.
