LIBERTYVILLE, CHICAGO—EVBox, a manufacturer of innovative EV charging solutions, announces the continued growth of its U.S. production footprint with an updated state-of-the-art production facility at its North American headquarters. EVBox’s investment in the 60,000-square-foot facility and its associated U.S. operations have already resulted in the creation of 45 jobs with the employee count expected to double before year’s end.

As electric cars increase in popularity, charging at fuel-retail destinations will be naturally needed but destination charging—public and semi-public charging at destinations including the office, supermarkets, and hotels—is also becoming an essential part of tomorrow’s electric mobility infrastructure. According to EVBox’s research, many EV drivers want to see more charging stations at destination charging locations. The vast majority (82 percent) believe businesses should offer EV charging to their customers and clients.

“EVBox’s mission is to lead the charge in electrifying U.S. transportation. This reduces the U.S. reliance on fossil fuel and tackles climate change while building out the U.S. e-mobility segment to support the anticipated adoption of electric vehicles. This increase of EVs on U.S. roads will require charging infrastructure that does not exist today, and EVBox is committed to being a leader in the crossover to electrification,” said James Fox, Senior Vice President of North America. “Installing charging stations is only half the challenge; producing and maintaining reliable charging hardware is the other half of the equation, and EVBox will leverage over a decade of expertise to bring this ambition of electrification to life.”

The Libertyville production facility will assemble EVBox’s new, fourth generation, state-of-the-art commercial DC fast charging station, EVBox Troniq Modular, in full compliance with the Federal Highway Association’s Buy America standards for EV chargers as well as the requirements of applicable National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) programs. EVBox Troniq Modular is designed to accelerate the transition to electric mobility by laying the foundations for a world where EVs will quickly become the norm. EVBox Troniq Modular will empower fuel retail, commercial spaces, hospitality businesses, and workplaces to join the electric mobility transition.

This continued investment in U.S. production and operations marks the latest step in many to come that will position EVBox as an industry leader in building, deploying, and maintaining a reliable North American charging infrastructure.
