HILO HAWAII—Soul Community Planet announced the opening of its new SCP Hilo Hotel. The 138-room property brings SCP’s unique brand of holistic hospitality to the Hawaiian Islands. Guests will experience Hilo’s unique island hospitality and rich Hawaiian culture throughout the property from the newly renovated open-air lobby and new Provisions market to the pool, pool deck, grounds and other public areas. Hawaiian culture has been purposely infused throughout the property with quotes, murals and artwork painted by local artist Brandy Serikaku.

Chuen Yee from Honolulu-based MCYIA Design, who also oversaw earlier renovations of the open-air lobby, pool, pool deck and other public areas in 2020 and 2021, is overseeing the design of the SCP Hilo Hotel’s new guestrooms, which will be implemented over the course of 2021.
