NILES, ILL.—The Mitchell Group, a major converter of coated fabrics to upholstery markets around the world, introduces Nexus, the latest polyurethane pattern in its Mitchell Collection. Nexus is the long-awaited follow-up to the popular polyurethane pattern Lexi. It features The Mitchell Group’s exclusive Hydro-Sil Silicone Protection top finish and a new color story featuring a soft palette of pastels.

The Hydro-Sil finish provides stain and chemical-disinfectant resistance while giving Nexus a silicone hand-feel and drape, yet also keeping the realistic leather characteristics the Mitchell Collection is known for. Like every pattern in the collection, Nexus closely imitates genuine leather in hand, surface feel, and overall appearance. When the material is stitched, gathered, or tufted, it breaks and wrinkles the way real leather does, and it stays soft and supple.

Nexus is offered in 25 colorways, with a palette that reflects today’s interior preferences. Soft pastels such as Ballerina, Dusty Rose, Light Sage, Spa, and Seawater lead the range, alongside warm neutrals like Buff, Desert Sand, and Olympic Beige and deeper tones including Chocolate, Dark Plum, Forest, and Port.

Nexus is built for commercial use. The pattern exceeds the minimum requirements set by the Association of Contract Textiles (ACT) and the Coated Fabric and Film Association (CFFA) for commercial-grade upholstery. The material is made with a water-based, non-solvent process. It contains no PVC, plasticizers, phthalates, stabilizers, heavy metals, or persistent organic pollutants. Nexus is stain-resistant and cleans with mild soap and water. The Mitchell Group is a compatibility partner with Clorox Healthcare and recommends Clorox Healthcare and Clorox Pro products for disinfecting in commercial settings. Full product specifications are available on the Nexus webpage.

“Lexi has been a popular pattern, so we were especially thoughtful about what comes next,” said Bill Fisch, President of The Mitchell Group. “Nexus keeps everything people liked about Lexi and moves it forward. The Hydro-Sil finish gives it a softer hand and a beautiful drape, and the color palette reflects what we’re currently seeing in commercial interiors.”

Nexus is available now through The Mitchell Group. For more information, samples, and technical documentation, visit mitchellfauxleathers.com.
