ASHEVILLE, N.C.—The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa has added four new “green” parking spaces for hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles. The spaces are located next to the elevators in the parking garage of the Sammons wing. The parking spaces send a clear message to guests that the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa places a high value on sustainable practices and energy conservation. Bike racks and special parking for motorcycles have also been installed to further encourage guests and employees to be energy conscious.
The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa makes a concerted effort to be environmentally conscious, with multiple green initiatives. In addition to the new parking spaces, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is the only major resort in North Carolina with a complete recycling program in place. In 2008, the Grove Park Inn won First Place in the National Employee Transportation Coordinator Champion Awards for its employee bus pass program and other efforts to reduce employee automobile usage, as well as the 3rd place International Restaurant & Hotel Green Award in the Luxury Hotel category.
