NEW YORK—Speed Queen, a provider of commercial laundry equipment, recently highlighted its ST75, a 75-pound capacity, single cylinder tumble dryer equipped with over-dry prevention technology at the 2012 International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show in New York City. The dryer features Quantum controls that can help increase efficiency in hotel laundries.

The ST75 features a concentrated airflow pattern and sealed cylinder rims to ensure maximum air utilization and energy savings. Its high performance heater box further increases energy efficiency by reducing dry times, while providing a comfortable operating environment for employees.

The ST75 is also available with OPT (Over-dry Prevention Technology). OPT is essential for those in the hospitality industry since an increasing number of hotels are using luxury linens. Over-drying compromises the integrity of the premium materials and shortens the life of the linens. With Over-dry Prevention Technology, linens last longer, throughput is increased and gas usage is reduced.

Over-dry Prevention Technology connects sensors located within the lifters to a rotary transfer switch that offers dryness accuracy. The result is a pinpoint dryness reading throughout the entire load, enabling the machine to shut-off when desired dryness levels have been reached.

When equipped with the Quantum Gold control, laundry managers can easily program the tumbler with the aid of a PC or PDA through an infrared connection and customize up to 30 dry cycles. This port also provides information on laundry operations, as audit data can be downloaded to a computer to determine training issues, inefficiencies and more.
