Seminar Proposals Sought by Organizers of Fall’s IH/M&RS

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.—The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) is now accepting seminar proposals for the 93rd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS), taking place November 8-11, 2008, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Hospitality industry experts are encouraged to share their research and insight at the industry’s premier event, which attracts more than 35,000 trade professionals and 1,250 exhibitors annually. The deadline for submitting proposals is February 28, 2008.

Proposals focused on timely and trend-driven information for the hospitality industry, within the areas of lodging, food and beverage, tourism/travel, consumer trends, greening of the industry, or related issues will be given preference. Additional topics of priority include hospitality design, technology, human resources, hotel operations, and sales and marketing.

Proposals should include a presentation title, brief content description and a biography for each speaker. Seminars featuring a panel of experts should be indicated as a panel presentation and include the names and biographies for each speaker. Seminars should be structured to fit within a 90-minute timeframe. Proposals can be sent to AH&LA’s Conventions & Events Department at conventions@ahla.com.

The 93rd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 8, through Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 8, the IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 9, through Tuesday, November 11. The market presents some 1,250 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 35,000 in total trade attendance.
