Substantial Carbon Savings
PurOptima’s Commercial Director, Kevin Mayer, comments, “As part of PurOptima’s U.S. expansion, we are excited to extend our brand into the Midwest in partnership with Clover Architectural Products. We look forward to demonstrating to designers, architects, contractors, and building owners how our glass wall systems deliver maximum ROI through striking aesthetics, top-tier acoustic performance, and substantial carbon savings. Following successful launches in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., this Midwest expansion is a natural next step, allowing us to tailor our solutions to the unique design needs of this vibrant region.”
“As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we attribute our success to the relationships we have with our team members, clients, and vendors. Kevin Mayer continues, “As a leading provider of bespoke workplace solutions in the Midwest, we partnered with Tom O’Malley from Clover to execute the search and support the expansion into this region. AGM was the clear choice, known for innovative, high-performance solutions and exceptional service. Together, we are committed to enhancing the built environment through sustainable practices and circular principles.”
New Brand of Sustainable Aluminum
PurOptima’s continued expansion into the U.S. market comes after a major announcement that PurOptima has switched its aluminum supply to Hydro CIRCAL across the entire company. Hydro CIRCAL is a new brand of sustainable aluminum, made with a minimum of 75 percent recycled post-consumer scrap, which minimizes the carbon footprint of the products in which it’s used and makes it a significantly more sustainable option than all other aluminum products currently on the market. Recycling aluminum requires just 5 percent of the energy needed to produce primary aluminum, drastically reducing the amount of energy required. This benefit is then passed onto PurOptima’s glass partitions and doors, greatly reducing their embodied carbon, reflecting the company’s ongoing aim to become a low-emission partitions manufacturer.
Kevin Mayer explains, “Currently, U.S.-produced aluminum has an embodied carbon of 16 kg CO₂ per kilogram, compared to a European average of 8.6 kg CO₂. In contrast, Hydro CIRCAL aluminum—exclusively available in the U.S. through PurOptima’s glass wall partitioning systems—has an embodied carbon of just 1.9 kg CO₂e per kilogram, down from the previous 2.3 kg CO₂e. This represents a substantial advantage for clients committed to lowering their carbon footprint. We have already achieved significant carbon reductions for clients focused on sustainable practices.”
The introduction of Hydro CIRCAL further underscores PurOptima’s commitment to circular economic principles, a core element of its business model. This milestone marks significant progress in PurOptima’s journey toward sustainable development and achieving a net-zero carbon footprint. Fully traceable and independently certified by third parties, Hydro CIRCAL is a transformative addition to PurOptima’s product portfolio and the broader building products industry. This pioneering shift positions PurOptima as a recognized leader in advancing genuine sustainable change within the commercial interior design industry.
