Peregrine Hospitality Celebrates Earth Month

Earth Month is the 30-day period commencing March 22 for Earth Hour, a global initiative designed to encourage actions that lead to positive environmental change, and culminating April 22, the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, bringing communities, businesses and individuals together to celebrate the planet and create a more sustainable future.

Peregrine Hospitality, a full-service hospitality company that combines precision, agility and an ownership mindset in managing world-class resorts and hotels, announced special programming and events across several of its luxury resort, boutique and select service hotel properties in celebration of Earth Month.

“Sustainability efforts have been underway across our portfolio for many years, with all of our properties making positive changes that benefit their communities,” said Ian Pullan, Peregrine Hospitality Senior Vice President, Asset Management, West. “Our properties are dedicated to sustainability year-round, and several have created special events to engage guests and members of the community to celebrate Earth Hour through Earth Day.”

Participating properties and events include:

Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach—This 124-key boutique hotel, nestled along the shoreline of California’s Central Coast, will feature:

  • Monday Morning Beach Clean-Ups (8:30 to 9:30 a.m.)
  • Candle & Fire Light Event on March 22, from sunset to 10 p.m., including stargazing and a candlelight dinner at Pequin Coastal Cocina on The Starlight Lawn
  • Pismo Beach Stewardship Event on April 21 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by an educational session on The Starlight Lawn
  • Lights Out Dinner on April 22, in partnership with Foxen Winery and Montley Crew Farms, on The Starlight Lawn
  • Increased Land Conservancy Donation through the “Green Lodging Program” for hotel stays between March 22 to April 22

Shore Cliff Hotel & Pismo Lighthouse Suites—Located near top attractions in Pismo Beach, Calif., these properties will host:

  • Guided hikes through the 880-acre Pismo Preserve every Saturday from March 22 to April 19. Hikes range from 1.5 to 5 miles for hikers aged 12 and older. A donation to the Preserve will be made for every guest who participates.

Silverado Resort—This 341-room resort, set on 1,200 acres near over 400 wineries in Napa Valley, will offer:

  • Forest Bathing Massage throughout April
  • Spa Learning Session on April 22, covering Eco-wisdom and Forest Bathing: Honoring Nature
  • Volunteer day on April 22 at Napa Parks and Recreation for cleanup and plant mitigation

Fairmont Grand Del Mar—The award-winning, luxurious 249-key resort located in the rolling hills of San Diego will feature:

  • Fireside Chat with San Diego Magazine on March 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Aria Lawn, discussing social responsibility and sustainability with local female CEOs
  • Plant the Preserve Activation on April 17 in partnership with the city of San Diego and the Department of Parks and Recreation
  • Earth Day celebration on April 22 with a presentation by Matt Sanders, Director of Agronomy, on the team’s efforts to restore and maintain the canyon preserve
  • Canyon to Coupe Five-Course Cocktail Pairing Dinner on April 25 at Canyon Terrace, celebrating native elements of the landscape

Paso Robles Inn—This 98-key hotel in the heart of California’s wine country will offer:

  • Spring Street Farmers Market Tour every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Chef Joe, followed by a dinner at the Steakhouse
  • Campfire & Cast-Iron Chili every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the gardens, featuring Steakhouse Chili paired with cornbread
  • Chef’s Garden Tour every Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Chef Joe, followed by custom cocktails crafted at Tetto Rooftop Bar using freshly picked herbs

In addition, a number of events celebrating Earth Month will be offered at several of Peregrine Hospitality’s select service properties nationwide, including Courtyard Clearwater Beach, Clearwater Beach AC Hotel, and SpringHill Suites Navarre Beach in Florida; Myrtle Beach Hampton Inn Suites in South Carolina; and Steamboat Springs Holiday Inn in Colorado. Among the festivities at these properties are:

Earth Month Kickoff

  • On March 22, each property will offer a series of happy hour and cocktail events partnering with biodynamic producers to offer biodynamic nuts, chocolates, cheese, and sparkling wine or cocktails
  • Onsite presentations and demonstrations from biodynamic vendors to educate attendees on the biodynamic process
  • Presentations by each property general manager to discuss property-wide sustainability commitment and community initiatives 

Dive-In to Earth Day

  • Properties will feature an inflatable pool projector screen playing Planet Earth/NASA/The Blue Planet
  • Availability of special cocktail menus of exclusively biodynamically grown products
