SPARTANBURG, S.C.—Innovation leader and global manufacturer Milliken & Co. announced that its Floor Covering and Specialty Interiors businesses joined forces to highlight the breadth and depth of Milliken’s hospitality product offerings at the company’s booth at the 2019 HD Expo in Las Vegas last week. Milliken featured both flooring and interior upholstery products, including the revolutionary sustainable performance fabric, Breathe by Milliken.

The Milliken booth featured a Breathe by Milliken-covered sofa from Younger Furniture in Tweed, one of Breathe’s recycled polyester fiber options. A limited quantity of bags made with Breathe by Milliken remnant fabric through Milliken Specialty Interiors’ relationship with The Gifted Company were given away during the show. The Gifted Company is a North Carolina-based subsidiary of a nonprofit organization dedicated to training and employing individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty to work in textile industry commercial sewing roles.

The Breathe by Milliken collection blends sustainability with performance. Breathe fabrics are the first fluorine-free performance fabrics compatible with both natural and manmade fibers. These upholstery fabrics are not only soft, but durable, water- and stain-repellent and easily cleanable, allowing guests to relax and indulge while helping facility operators deliver more fully on their environmental goals and brand promises.

New Floor Covering Collection

Milliken Floor Covering launched a new collection called Forces of Nature, which aligns well with the natural focus of the eco-conscious Breathe by Milliken fabrics.

“Milliken prides itself on understanding and serving the floor covering needs of the hospitality industry,” said Rob Cushman, National Accounts and Business Development Manager of Milliken’s Floor Covering division. “We believe presenting a more complete view of what Milliken can offer will allow us to give our valued hospitality customers greater insight into all the ways Milliken can enhance their properties’ aesthetics, sustainability and durability.”

“Milliken & Company’s broad expertise allows us to expand the range of possibilities for customers,” said Jennifer K. Harmon, Vice President, Milliken Specialty Interiors. “We are excited to work with our floor covering division to share our common value proposition, our customization capabilities and how our specialty interiors business can help customers bring their vision to life more sustainably.”
