Orion Launches Energy Efficient Parking Lot Lighting Solution
MANITOWOC, WIS.—Orion Energy Systems Inc. has developed an innovative parking lot lighting system designed to take energy savings and better lighting outdoors. The fixture boasts fluorescent lamps that reduce users’ energy consumption by 50 percent or more while significantly increasing light levels in comparison to the legacy high-intensity discharge lights that are used in most parking lots today.
Orion expanded its product line to include the outdoor fixture as another substantial way to help customers save on light-related energy costs. It is estimated that there are more than 20 million parking lot lights nationwide. According to a study conducted...
Litetronics Adds Line of Plug-in Compact Fluorescent Tube Lamps
ALSIP, ILL.—Litetronics International, Inc. announced that it is now carrying a full line of Plug-in Compact Fluorescent Tube (PFT) lamps in 2700K, 3500K, 4100K, and 5000K. PFT lamps are equipped with a two- or four-pin base that is specific to the lamp’s wattage, and they utilize a ballast that is built into the fixture. The PFT lamps with a two-pin starter are for use with a magnetic ballast. Those that have a four-pin starter are for use with an electronic ballast. Lamps cannot be interchanged with different ballasts.
PFT lamps use 75 percent less energy than incandescent lamps...
Besa Lighting Introduces Complete Low Voltage Monorail System
BLACKLICK, OHIO—Besa Lighting has introduced a low voltage monorail system with a broad range of pendant and spotlight options and accessories. The heart of the 12V monorail system is a new ultra-low profile rail that is hand bendable, but with enough “memory” to sustain its shape for a variety of configurations. Four- and eight-foot sections are available in either bronze or satin nickel finish, and are field-cuttable to meet exact specifications.
Surface-mounted and remote electronic and magnetic transformer configurations are offered. The 300-watt ratings support up to six 50-watt or eight 35-watt low voltage lighting elements. The Besa monorail system...
Litetronics International Introduces Micro-Brite C11 Torpedo Lamps
ALSIP, ILL.—Litetronics International introduces Micro-Brite C11 torpedo lamps. They have a smaller size than bent tip C11s, allowing them to fit in smaller decorative fixtures. Their cold cathode technology dims down to 5 percent of its light output without flickering. Unlike incandescent C11 lamps that undergo color shift when dimmed, the Micro-Brite C11 dims with consistent 2850K color.
Available in clear and white finishes with a candelabra base, Micro-Brite C11 torpedo lamps can be used both indoors and outdoors. The 5-watt Micro-Brite replaces a 30-watt incandescent lamp and yields up to 85 percent savings in energy costs. Its...

TCP Adds CFL/LED Hybrid to SpringLamp Product Line
AURORA, OHIO—TCP, Inc. has combined the benefits of its compact fluorescent lamps with new LED technology to create the SpringLamp three-way CFL/LED light bulb. The three-way CFL/LED hybrid switches between 19 watts, 30 watts and a 1-watt LED night light, comparable to a 50/100/150-watt incandescent bulb, for use in table lamps and floor lamps.
Lasting an average of 10,000 hours (more than 10 times longer than an incandescent), the three-way CFL/LED is manufactured using lead-free glass. This gives the bulb better lumen maintenance over its life and a color temperature closest to incandescent light. A new amalgam technology provides cooler...
