NORTH WALPOLE, N.H.—Len-Tex Corp. announced the introduction of its exclusive Clean Vinyl Technology (CVT), a breakthrough development for the commercial wallcovering industry. Len-Tex has partnered with O’Sullivan Films to create a customized, non-ortho-phthalate vinyl film. This technology eliminates the elements of most concern to health and indoor air quality typically found in traditional vinyl wallcovering products. Len-Tex CVT contains no phthalate plasticizers, no barium or other heavy metals, no antimony-based fire retardants and no formaldehyde. In addition, the CVT technology incorporates the Ultra-Fresh antimicrobial agent, replacing an arsenic-based biocide often found in commercial vinyl wallcovering.

“We’re proud to take a leadership role in developing innovative products that contribute to cleaner, healthier interiors,” said Don Lennon, Len-Tex president. “The Clean Vinyl Technology demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement of our vinyl products. We’ve engineered an ultra-low VOC material while maintaining the beauty and durability you’ve come to expect from Len-Tex.”

Len-Tex wallcoverings with Clean Vinyl Technology meet the rigorous standards of the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage Gold, as well as earning a pass rating for the CA 01350 and CHPS. In addition, CVT wallcoverings meet the stringent EU standard EN 15102 for decorative wallcoverings, and support the new W-101 Wallcovering Assn. standard.

Len-Tex CVT wallcoverings meet all of the durability, cleanability and fire rating of its previous formulations while further improving indoor air quality. Len-Tex is in the process of replacing its entire line of Type II vinyl wallcoverings with the new technology and will have their entire vinyl product line converted to CVT within 2011.
