INDIAN SHORES, FLA.—Legacy Vacation Resorts has opened its Indian Shores, Fla. property. Located on the intracoastal waters on the gulf coast of Florida, the property offers villa-style accommodations, with studio, one bedroom and two-bedroom configurations. The newly designed rooms feature a breezy, modern coastal-chic aesthetic. An inviting sun deck and fishing dock are located directly on the water behind the main resort, and a newly enhanced BBQ area and fire pit allows guests to enjoy their very own outdoor cookouts. Boat slips and beach access are found just a short walk away.

Over the last four years, the resort has been undergoing an eco-friendly transformation of guestrooms, public spaces and exteriors. The project first began with the 40 guestrooms, elevating every element from flooring, kitchens, furniture and bathrooms with environmentally friendly materials and water/energy efficient fixtures and appliances. The main lobby was also enhanced, and a new sundries shop was introduced, selling locally made and other ethical and B Corp products. An entirely new pool area was constructed and features ample chaise lounge seating as well as a hot tub. Other amenities include a game room, shuffleboard court, business center and laundry facilities. The exterior of the resort was completely remodeled and now features sleek, modern architecture to compliment the style of the guestrooms. Landscaping throughout the property was also upgraded and features native Florida landscaping and drought resistant species, further lowering the need for water consumption.

All these changes were made with the local environment and sustainability in mind. Recycling bins are provided throughout the resort, water bottle refilling stations are at select areas to encourage minimizing the need for single use plastics, green cleaning products are used by housekeeping staff and complimentary electric vehicle chargers are available for guest use. In the bathrooms, small amenity bottles have been replaced by refillable wall-mounted units to eliminate unnecessary waste. For direct bookings, the company also secures carbon offsets for every guest stay. Signage through the property also educates guests on the B Corp standing and offers suggestions on different ways they too can reduce their impact on the environment during their stay as well as inspiring more mindful habits back at home.
