SAN DIEGO—Kirei, a provider of sustainable acoustic design materials, introduces Plaza Cloud, a part of the Carnegie Acoustic Solutions Mezzo Collection, a new suite of acoustic solutions designed to bring harmony to interior environments. Inspired by musical dynamics, the Mezzo Collection offers a balance of sound control and aesthetic refinement, allowing designers to craft spaces that are both functional and beautifully composed.

A cloud and a grid in one, the Kirei Plaza Cloud reinvents ceiling design through modularity and acoustic performance. Measuring 36″ x 36″, each square unit can stand alone or be combined with others. The cloud’s innovative construction and beveled edges enhance both aesthetic appeal and acoustic performance, making it a design-driven powerhouse with an array-NRC of 1.05. Plaza Cloud can be hung from various ceiling types using cable suspension—use Kirei Plaza as a solo product to set the stage for a conference table, or link units together to create striking ceilings of any scale. It is a four-point direct mount cloud, installed using eyebolt or setscrew hardware and standard Kirei cloud installation.

The Mezzo collection empowers designers to tailor each element to their project’s unique aesthetic and acoustic needs. Made from recycled PET containing at least 60 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, Plaza Cloud is available in 35 color options and is fully compatible with Kirei Ink’s signature 50+ ink patterns, wood-look finishes, and natural textures, offering maximum customization potential along with powerful sound control.

Blending Functionality with Artistry

“Plaza Cloud serves as a pivotal component in acoustic design, blending functionality with artistry,” says Michael DiTullo, Head of Product Innovation for Carnegie Acoustic Solutions. “Its modular design empowers designers to express their creativity, allowing spaces to flow and harmonize with sound and aesthetic style. With sustainability as a priority, Plaza Cloud reflects our dedication to creating spaces that are both visually appealing and environmentally conscious.”

True to its name, Mezzo—Italian for “middle” or “moderate”—embodies the perfect equilibrium of sound absorption and design sophistication. This collection seamlessly integrates into various commercial settings, providing solutions that reduce reverberation and enhance auditory comfort without compromising style.

As a B-Corp championing PVC-free and recycled materials, Carnegie strives to lead the acoustics industry with an authentic commitment to sustainability. From biobased textiles made from sugarcane to PET products made with post-consumer recycled plastics, Carnegie Acoustic Solutions delivers innovative acoustic solutions with sustainability at its core. Kirei’s products meet or exceed CDPH standards for VOCs and are Red List Free and Declare Label qualified/certified. Additionally, they are inherently Class A fire-rated, carry an HPD and EPD, and qualify for LEED and WELL building credits.
