SAN DIEGO—HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a leading distributor of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products, announced the opening of its newest distribution center (DC) in Calera, Ala., approximately 30 miles south of Birmingham. The new DC is the 43rd in the company’s operations network in North America, and the second new DC opening for HD Supply Facilities Maintenance in 2013. The company opened a 50,000 square foot facility in Secaucus, N.J. earlier this year.
“We are excited to open our Birmingham-area distribution center, an important addition to our network of DCs throughout the United States and Canada,” said Anesa Chaibi, president and CEO of HD Supply Facilities Maintenance. “This new distribution center allows us to continue to improve our local support for customers in the Southeast, including Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and the Florida panhandle.”
The 350,000-square-foot facility will employ more than 50 associates when fully staffed, bringing new job opportunities to the Birmingham area.
