HICKORY, N.C.—HBF Textiles presents the third edition of The Designer Edit series, Cultivated: Stewardship through Design. Existing across four chapters, the series showcases cherished HBF Textiles patterns with new introductions, exploring how color, materials, and craftsmanship allow great design to endure long after its introduction. Creative Direction and styling are led by Joseph Namyst, Creative Director at Davis Furniture. Paired with materials from Davis Furniture and objects from Namyst’s personal collection, Cultivated fosters connection between textiles, furniture, and artifacts, showing how thoughtful curation can make familiar designs resonate.
Meet the Cultivated Chapters
Chapter 1—Origins: Deep greens meet earthen umbers, setting the stage for a palette grounded in honest, raw materials. Taking inspiration from clay, stone, timber, and fiber, these eight patterns are paired with Mid-Century Spanish marble and Davis Ash wood samples, curated to celebrate the inherent qualities of natural, enduring materials. opening the story with earthen colors and tactile depth.
Chapter 2—Alchemy: Forged by fire and woven by hand, rich bronze and incandescent coppers inspire a palette shaped by transformation. Conceptualized for an atmosphere that celebrates craftsmanship, these six patterns, when paired with Davis solid oak and vintage brass sculptures, turn everyday materials into memorable design.
Chapter 3—Resonance: Lustrous coals and smoky greys give this timeless palette a lasting depth. Thoughtfully curated, these seven patterns, accented by marble spheres and dark botanical stems, gain new meaning through their continued use. This palette is a tribute to materials that endure over time.
Chapter 4—Legacy: Crafted with a richness that only age can create, sophisticated burgundy and rustic terracotta meet in a palette that deepens over time. These seven richly woven textiles pay homage to patinated metals, figured woods, and hand-blown glass, closing the series with cherished objects and materials that accumulate meaning beyond function, objects that become part of our own story.
