HICKORY, N.C.—HBF Textiles presents the second edition of The Designer Edit, a collection of six striking color personalities for key interior environments, envisioning the aesthetic trends and performance demands designed for today’s most desired environments. This edition’s palettes are curated and styled by Kickie Chudikova, a New York-based industrial designer celebrated for her artistry of designing with raw materials and creating products, lighting, and furniture that spotlight bold, saturated colors. Each palette includes HBF Textiles designs from several collections, accented by six new color additions to the Free Way chrome-free leather line, and featuring finishes from Sample House.

The Retail Storyteller: Bold contrast meets material play to craft a woven story through an expressive blend of colors curated for retail spaces. Vibrant yellows, deep purples, and delicate pastels serve as the characters in this story, carrying their color and personality with confidence. These textiles feature the new camel Free Way leather, transforming flagship stores into immersive brand experiences.

The Hotel Tastemaker: Immerse yourself in a world of intimacy and quiet luxury where velvet weaves and supple textures indulge the emotional experience of a space. Designed to create a sense of escape that defines a truly memorable hotel experience, the moody reds and rich tones layer depth and softness, elevating the fabric’s lush textures.

The Workplace Visionary: Blending functionality with human accessibility by reimagining the workplace as a calm and welcoming environment is the ethos of this palette. Deep emeralds and sophisticated neutrals in bleach-cleanable textures chosen for their durability and adaptability. The result: a modern workplace that merges performance with tranquility.

The Sustainability Standard

The Sustainability Standard: Mental well-being is at the forefront of this palette, telling a calming story through patterns that incorporate sustainable elements. Clean, soft neutrals add to the palette’s natural renewing fibers, utilizing materials such as cork, wool, and cotton. This hopeful palette is perfect for designers with a passion for sustainability, as well as brands focused on organically contributing to the wellness-focused spaces around them.

The Culinary Curator: Fiery corals meet tangy coppers in this palette that has captured the passion of the restaurant experience. Conceptualized for dining spaces that exude atmosphere through comfort and intimacy, these finishes, much like a perfect meal, balance richness with overall performance. Supple leathers and creamy velvets deliver visual richness with bleach-cleanable performance exceeding 70,000 double rubs—proving beauty and durability aren’t mutually exclusive. The Culinary Curator creates moments that transform first-time diners into devoted regulars.

The Landscape Dreamer: The great expanse of the outdoors echoes through whimsical greens, bringing indoor sophistication to outdoor living. This palette ripples with organic textures reminiscent of the natural landscape. Third-party tested and ACT-certified, these textiles embrace the elements with serenity–resisting mold and harsh weather, while maintaining the refined beauty of the natural world.

Free Way introduces six new colorways to its tailored collection of 19 refined tones. This new expansion is HBF Textiles’ chrome-free alternative leather, providing designers with the organic depth and supple material essential to layered interiors–without compromising on environmental responsibility. Winner of the European LIFE Award, Free Way is sourced from a zero-waste tannery with zero process waste and no landfill.
