Sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, a North American Van Lines truck will pull up in front of our home in University Heights, Ohio. A crew will load up the truck for my family’s move to Tampa, Fla. After living my entire life in Ohio, I will be making the move south thanks to a new job opportunity for my wife. As I go, so too will go Green Lodging News. As of December 23, the address of our new office will be 7438 Gunn Hwy., Tampa, Fla. 33625. While I am certainly looking forward to nicer weather, especially at this time of the year, I will miss family and friends here in Ohio. The good news for Green Lodging News readers is that I will be much closer to one of the most active lodging markets in United States—Orlando—where there are many good green lodging stories to tell. Speaking of which, if you are based in Florida and have a story idea to share, don’t hesitate to contact me. I just might be able to get to your property in person.
We will be making the drive down I-71 and I-75 beginning on Tuesday, December 17. If you have been following Green Lodging News the last few years, you know that I have a son who is two years old. If you have any ideas for keeping my son occupied in his car seat during the drive, I am all ears. We are hoping to keep meltdowns to a minimum and praying for the occasional roadside playground.
I will continue to update the Green Lodging News website during our travels and you should still see a Green Lodging News e-newsletter on the morning of December 23. It is amazing how the Internet has made it easy to work from just about anywhere.
