BOZEMAN, MONT.—Field & Stream Bozeman, the debut property from Field & Stream Lodge Co., announced the appointment of Ian Crines as General Manager. In this role, Crines will oversee day-to-day operations at the lodge, working with local partners to connect guests with outdoor experiences, while leading a team focused on service, comfort, and a genuine sense of place.
“It is an honor to lead the first Field & Stream Lodge,” said Crines, General Manager of Field & Stream Bozeman. “There are more than 150 years of heritage behind this brand and an incredible amount of history and outdoor expertise for us to draw inspiration from. As travelers increasingly look for a hotel to be more than simply a place to stay, that heritage allows us to create something with a genuine sense of identity and purpose: a place that brings people together, helps them reconnect, and inspires them to get outside and experience the Great Outdoors.”
Crines most recently served as General Manager for Modus Hotels, where he was recognized by PM Hotel Group as “General Manager of the Year.” He stepped into the role in 2022, advancing from a food and beverage leadership position into room operations and hotel manager roles within the company, before ultimately leading Hotel Hive to a “Hotel of the Year” recognition in the Lifestyle division. In 2024, Penn State’s hospitality program honored him with its “Emerging Professional” alumni award. His career began at the Nittany Lion Inn, a full-service hotel on the campus of Pennsylvania State University, where he studied Hospitality Management.
At Field & Stream Lodge, Crines plans to build on that operational foundation, drawing on his passion for the outdoors to create memorable guest experiences. He intends to foster a culture of trust, with the property team serving as a resource that helps guests make the most of their visit. Above all, he wants travelers to leave with a sense of genuine, approachable hospitality and feel inspired to explore Bozeman and its surrounding community.
Outside of work, Crines enjoys spending time with family and friends. His favorite hobbies include golf, snowboarding, and fishing, and he looks forward to exploring the many beautiful places and incredible outdoor experiences Montana has to offer.
