AUBURN, N.H.—Aquawing Ozone Injection Systems (AWOIS) LLC, Auburn, N.H., recently unveiled a new website that includes educational information pertaining to ozone laundry systems, research, product information, customer testimonials and environmental benefits.

AWOIS is a manufacturer of ozone laundry systems focused on improving laundry processes, conserving natural resources and reducing negative effects of laundry processing on the environment. The company’s Aquawing Variable Ozone laundry systems are in place at hundreds of hotels, nursing homes, hospitals, on-premise laundries and correctional facilities across North America.

“Many people don’t fully realize the benefits of ozone laundry systems,” said Brett Daniels, vice president of AWOIS. “Our new impartial website is designed and organized to make information and research related to ozone quickly available and understandable to visitors. The site also describes ozone and its many benefits in a clear-cut manner. It’s a great ozone resource tool available to anyone.”

Ozone Process Explained

The website also describes how ozone works. “Ozone gas attaches to and breaks down organic materials like soils, bacteria, molds and greases,” said Daniels. “Once broken down, these materials are easily removed from fabric by detergent in the wash cycle.”

Ozone works best in cold water and can completely eliminate a laundry’s need for hot water—reducing gas consumption and water usage. Because ozone leaves only oxygen behind, it is also environmentally friendly.

The site also explains the newly patented Aquawing Variable Ozone System, a system that automatically manages the level of ozone released into the wash cycle through sensors mounted on the washer, not on the wall. More ozone is released into heavily soiled loads of laundry, and less ozone is released in lightly soiled loads. Because ozone works best in cold water, it is essential to properly manage ozone levels in order to disinfect a load and provide superior wash results. By utilizing Aquawing Variable Ozone Systems, laundry facilities will not only enjoy faster dry times and more productivity, they will consume fewer chemicals, use less water, electricity and natural gas, and produce less wastewater. The process can extend linen life by up to 20 percent.
