Annual CHRIE Conference to Feature Multiple Green Sessions

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND—The 2012 Annual CHRIE Summer Conference will be held August 1 to 4 at the Westin Providence and Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The 2012 conference will be filled with informative presentations, the latest in educational research, displays at the ICHRIE Marketplace and lots of networking opportunities for members and guests. Several sessions will touch on sustainability-related topics over the course of the event.

On Wednesday, August 1, there will be a session entitled, “Patients without Borders: An Ethical, Sustainable & Integrated approach to Medical Tourism Development and Management.” That same day there will be a session entitled, “An Internal Ecotourism Review for Primland Resort.”

On Thursday, August 2, there will be a session entitled, “Environmental Proactivity in Hotels: Antecedents and the Moderating Role of Ownership Type.”

On Friday, August 3, there will be a keynote presentation by Faith Taylor, vice president of sustainability and innovation for Wyndham Worldwide. There will be a session entitled, “A Blueprint for Slow Food Agricultural linkages to Sustainable Tourism.” Also on Friday there will be a session entitled, “The Sustainability Management Curriculum Discussion: Case Studies in Hospitality Management Programs.”

On Saturday, August 4, there will a session entitled, “Sustainable Hotel Practices and Nationality: The Impact on Guest Satisfaction and Guest Intention to Return.”

Throughout the event there will also be a number of poster sessions that touch on green lodging and sustainability.
