OAK BROOK, ILL.—Global textile manufacturer 1888 Mills will be revamping their permanent New York City showroom space to promote the launch of several new towel and bedding programs for the hospitality market.
Coinciding with the 2013 International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show, the recently expanded showroom space will be transformed to feature new luxury programs as well as high performance terry product.
“Located in the Textile Building on Fifth Avenue, our design-oriented showroom affords us the opportunity to present our breath of product, industry-leading innovation, and luxury platform,” said Jack Bray, President of the Commercial Division at 1888 Mills. “We are introducing some very exciting product lines and the showroom is a great forum to showcase these new innovations and 1888 Mills as a whole.”
Naked Line Includes Modal Body Fiber
The newest addition to 1888’s luxury line is Naked, intimate terry and bedding product made with Modal Body fiber. 1888 Mills will also be featuring EnduraWeave, a unique blended base construction that provides greater dimensional stability in both the width and length of a towel for superior shape retention. EnduraWeave extends overall product life and has been proven to outlast a traditional blended towel.
Made in USA product is another key focus within the Fifth Avenue showroom. 1888 Mills currently employs more than 200 people in Griffin, Ga. Griffin is home to one of the last remaining U.S. towel manufacturing plants, and more than ten 1888 Mills private label hospitality brands. The company sees a growing awareness and need for Made in USA product within the industry.
“We have been making and selling USA terry product for years,” said Bray. “Made in USA product has been a long-time staple of our hospitality division and we are now repositioning these brands so that our customers can benefit from our domestic manufacturing platform as well.”
