TEMPLE, TEXAS—Wilsonart unveils Thinscape, its ½-inch ultra-thin composite tops that deliver a new design option when seeking slab options for both commercial and residential use. Lightweight, fabrication-friendly, and ready to perform, Thinscape bridges modern aesthetics with operational efficiency in a way that heavier stone materials simply cannot.

Originally introduced to the residential market, Thinscape has gained significant momentum across commercial interiors, multifamily housing, retail, and factory-built environments as a smart alternative to other hard surfaces like granite. The appeal is straightforward: a premium surface at a more accessible price point, without the weight, sealing requirements, or fabrication complexity that traditional slab materials demand.

At just ½-inch thick, Thinscape is a self-supporting composite slab that resists impact, scratches, heat, moisture, and stains with no sealing required. Its color-coordinated core produces clean, refined edge detailing without edge banding, and its lightweight construction allows it to be worked with standard woodworking tools, reducing labor steps and accelerating production cycles. Slab sizes up to 5×12 feet support large-format applications, while a palette of 28 designs spanning stone, woodgrain, textile, and solid color give designers and specifiers the range to work across project types and aesthetics.

A Clean, Contemporary Finish

The applications are wide-ranging. In commercial settings, Thinscape performs in high-traffic hospitality, workplace, and education environments as a table or work surface that holds up without adding structural burden. In vanity applications, its heat-, stain-, and moisture-resistant profile pairs seamlessly with undermount sinks for a clean, contemporary finish. For countertops, bar tops, islands, desks, and custom furniture, it delivers the slim, European-inspired aesthetic that modern interiors are asking for at a cost that supports project budgets.

“A sleek and ultra-thin profile doesn’t mean sacrificing aesthetic ambition,” said Joel Culp, Wilsonart’s Vice President of Laminates. “Thinscape was engineered to simplify fabrication while elevating design. Thin can still be incredibly strong, and this product proves it.”

Thinscape offers a composite material that machines cleanly, supports faster production, and reduces the number of steps required to deliver a finished surface. For architects and designers, it represents a high-performance slab option that competes with other hard surfaces on weight, ease of maintenance, and overall project value.

Thinscape has a Health Product Declaration (HPD) and a Declare Label, and is GREENGUARD Gold certified, supporting projects that require sustainability documentation. The product is backed by a 10-year limited warranty.
