As reported on Green Lodging News, for the second consecutive year, Zurn Elkay Water Solutions was included in Newsweek’s list of America’s Greenest Companies 2026, highlighting 450 U.S.-based companies that have made the most impressive efforts to minimize their negative impact on the environment.
This year’s ranking evaluated companies based on more than 25 parameters in four different categories. Categories included greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation and sustainability data disclosure and commitments.
I was curious to know the other companies besides Zurn on the list with some lodging connections. The list is short with just four companies identified: American Express, Ecolab, JLL, and Otis Worldwide. All four companies have committed to help limit global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees C above pre-industrial levels with a more specific aim of 1.5 degrees C.
CNN reported yesterday that the world has failed to meet its main climate change target of limiting the rise in global temperatures to that 1.5 degrees C and will likely breach this threshold in the next decade, according to the United Nations’ Environment Programme.
