LEBANON, N.J.—Construction Specialties (CS), a leading manufacturer of architectural building products, has realized significant progress in advancing its sustainability and transparency goals, reinforcing its commitment to creating products and operations that positively impact people and the planet.

Five Key Milestones Strengthening CS’ Sustainability Program

  1. 100 Percent Renewable Electricity at Pennsylvania Facilities—All CS facilities in Pennsylvania are now powered entirely by renewable wind energy, marking a major step toward the company’s long-term goal of reducing its carbon footprint and transitioning to sustainable energy sources.
  2. Launch of the CS Ecomedes Site—CS has launched Phase 1 of its Ecomedes platform. The new platform allows users to easily search, filter, and compare Construction Specialties products based on their verified environmental and health performance data, certifications and declarations. By integrating directly with Ecomedes — a trusted database of sustainable building materials — CS is making it simpler for customers to identify solutions that contribute to green building certifications such as LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge.
  3. First Red List Free Declare Label—CS published its first Red List Free Declare Label for Acrovyn® Sheet – Solid Color, signaling full material transparency and compliance with the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) rigorous criteria for healthy, non-toxic building materials.
  4. Updated Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Acrovyn Sheet—The updated EPDs now reflect the reduced embodied carbon achieved through CS’ Acrovyn with Recycled Content initiative. This update highlights the measurable progress CS has made in lowering the environmental impact of its flagship product line.
  5. Expanded Product Certifications and Transparency Documentation—CS continues to lead in verified product data, maintaining a robust suite of third-party certifications and transparency documents that demonstrate measurable environmental and health performance. Current certifications include:
  • Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Certified
  • Cradle to Cradle Material Health Certificate
  • Red List Free Declare Label
  • Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
  • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification
  • LEED-Compliant Health Product Declarations (HPD)
  • Intertek Clean Air Gold Certifications

“Sustainability is woven into every aspect of our business—from how we power our facilities to how we design and manufacture our products,” said Anthony Peachey, Construction Specialties Marketing Director. “These recent achievements underscore our commitment to continuous improvement and to providing our customers with the verified, transparent information they need to design healthier, more sustainable buildings.”

These advancements support the CS Pursuing Better sustainability platform, which focuses on environmental responsibility, human health, and community well-being.
